Pop Singer/Songwriter DAYVID To Release First Single From Highly Anticipated Debut EP

“Wasted Luv” to be released on September 20, 2019

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, September 10, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Pop Singer/songwriter DAYVID, will be releasing the first single from his upcoming debut EP on September 20, 2019. “Wasted Luv,” produced by Grammy-Nominated producer Morgan Taylor Reid, is a follow up to DAYVID’s well-reviewed single, “VHS,” which was released in Spring 2019. “Wasted Luv” inspired a burst of creativity in the rising music star that completed the vision for his highly anticipated debut EP. From age 16, DAYVID has been writing music for major music artists including Fedde le Grand and Navarra.
“Wasted Luv” is co-written by DAYVID and Reid. The single was mixed by DJ Swivel and mastered by Chris Gehringer. “Wasted Luv” is released by DAYVID Music with AWAL being the global distributor.
“The song expresses my own experience with love, and one of those instances where you get to know someone well and develop a deep relationship with them, and then something goes wrong and you just want to forget everything about them. It is an experience most of us can relate to which also causes us to be cautious…maybe sometimes a bit too cautious,” says DAYVID.
Producer Reid’s prior hailed offerings include Marshmello, Jack & Jack, and CHROMEO.
“Wasted Luv” will be available on all streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. For pre save /pre add https://ffm.to/dayvid-wastedluv

21-year-old singer and songwriter DAYVID is a San Diego native. As a child he sang in a church choir, and in high school began dissecting popular music to understand its construction. At 16, he began commuting to Los Angeles to find a path into the music industry and soon found success writing music for artists including Fedde le Grand and Navarra. At 18, DAYVID moved to Los Angeles to pursue a full-time music career. Wanting to remain independent, he assembled his own music team of collaborators, and released his debut single “Sure of Me” in Fall 2018. He began a collaboration with Grammy-nominated Morgan Taylor Reid soon after, which spawned the well-reviewed single “VHS” in Spring 2019 and the upcoming new single “Wasted Luv,” soon to be followed by an EP.
DAYVID has a unique modern voice that is often compared to ‘80’s artists like Tears for Fears or Chris de Burgh. The production builds the music bed around his smooth natural tone to provide a modern flair.
DAYVID’s music is inspired by many artists including Prince, George Michael, and Peter Gabriel from the 80’s and current artists Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, and Taylor Swift.
“I co-write all of own my songs, and am deeply involved in the entire process including production, mixing/mastering, and the creation of visuals to keep everything cohesive with my overall vision,” says DAYVID. “Much of the inspiration for my music and aesthetic actually comes from 80’s classic films like ‘Breakfast Club,’ ‘Say Anything,’ and ‘Sixteen Candles.’ For me, it’s all about creating music that speaks for me, and hopefully gives a voice to others.”

Rockland County Indie Record Label MVB Records Signs New Female R&B / Pop Artist

MVB RECORDS 2006 Trademark

Original MVB RECORDS trademark

The popular New York State independent record label MVB Records signed its first ever female Pop and R&B musician.

He (Sosa) said that the combination of her great vocals plus her knowledge of the music production process is amazing”

— David Ritchen

NANUET, NY, UNITED STATES, September 10, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — The popular New York state indie record label (MVB RECORDS) has been around since 2006 and it has jump started the careers of numerous up-and-coming independent artists; including the popular female Hip Hop artist La'Vega. MVB RECORDS' music catalog spans the genres of Gospel, Rock, Pop, Folk, Latin, Hip Hop, Electronic, and Reggae, and while that list is expansive the record label has never worked with a female Pop / R&B artist. The label owner Abdel "Sosa" Russell has long said that his dream is to work with a female Pop singer, and as of August 2019 that dream has become a reality.

The only information about this new female artist that has been released is that she is a Latina with great vocals, and also that she records and mixes her own music. Sosa said that he has never worked with an artist who understood how to record their own music and also one who had an understanding of the mixing process. He said that the combination of her great vocals plus her knowledge of the music production process is amazing.

MVB RECORDS has not yet released any images or the name of their new R&B / Pop artist, but it is rumored that the artist has a photo shoot scheduled soon. The only details about their new artist that has been confirmed is that her first single has already been recorded. MVB RECORDS has also made headlines recently because the label decided to go back to using their original 2005 trademark and logo. No specific details on why the change was made has been given, but the old school MVB RECORDS logo is a staple in the independent music industry.

For more information on MVB RECORDS you can visit their website at www.mvbrecords.com.

Musicologist Dr. Barbara Jackson to be Featured on CUTV News Radio

FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, UNITED STATES, September 10, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Who was the female Mozart? Beethoven? Bach? Most people would find it difficult to name any women classic composers, but they were many, and their work stands among the best of their male contemporaries.

Dr. Barbara Jackson has dedicated her career to preserving music by historic women.

“My particular interest was women composers of the past, because as a teacher, I was well aware that my students, particularly my women students, didn't really know that there was a wonderful past of women composers,” says Dr. Jackson. “Many of these women were really quite famous in their time. When the music was somewhat more out of fashion, it has taken longer for the women to resurface. And I'm glad to have been part of that.”

Dr. Jackson is professor emerita from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where she was a member of the music faculty from 1954-1956 and from 1961-1991. Dr. Jackson received her PhD in musicology from Stanford University in 1959

In 1982 she founded the music publishing company ClarNan Editions, specializing in music by historic women. She has since sold the company but still contributes as a consultant.

In 1994 she culminated her research on the contribution of women composers of the past with the reference work "Say Can You Deny Me"; A Guide to Surviving Music by Women from the 16th Through the 18th Centuries, listing the location of extant manuscript and early printed sources by women in major libraries in Europe and the U.S.

“What I do is to make this music available to performers now. That's what preservation is about. It's not for a museum. It's for the performance!” says Dr. Jackson. “These women are our musical ancestors. “It's really an important thing to have roots and to know what has gone on in the past. To hear these wonderful pieces keep their memory alive and inspires the performers of today.”

Clara Schumann was the wife of the great German composer Robert Schumann. She was also one of the greatest pianists of the 19th century and she published a small body of work under her own name.

“She also had eight children,” says Jackson. “So it's really amazing that she also had time to write music that stands well with the other composers of her time.”

Now retired, Dr. Jackson is still interested in historic performance practice and other aspects of 16th-18th century classical music.

“We don't have as many manuscripts as one might like, but I'll be 90 next month and I plan to keep busy for a long time.”

CUTV News Radio will feature Dr. Barbara Jackson in an interview with Jim Masters on September 12that 1pm EDT.
