Daystar Academy Zoom Disco Dance Party Lifts Spirits Of Homebound School Kids & Their Parents

Daystar Academy, an IB School, hosts weekly dance parties via Zoom to help families cope with the stress of Covid-19 changes and continue building community.

It was especially a blessing for us to have such a fun ‘plan’ when much feels so indeterminate. We continue to be so grateful for all the efforts that the whole Daystar team puts into eLearning.”

— Daystar Academy

CHICAGO, IL, USA, March 31, 2020 / — Daystar Academy transformed a planned fundraiser into a free online dance party and still raised $15,000 to benefit the school. The event was so well-received, they will host a free dance party each Saturday to keep children and families connected and help "flatten the curve" during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order.

Like most schools across the country, Daystar Academy, an IB World School in Chicago’s South Loop has made the transformation to online education in record time. Teachers have been providing online coursework and video chat connections to make sure that students stay on track, motivated and excited. One other transformation Daystar is making focuses on supporting the social aspects of school life.

Though it pales greatly in comparison to the gravity of everything going on across Chicago and the world this week, transforming a very important fundraising event into a free time of fun and celebration for families obeying the shelter-in-place guidelines was another way Daystar Academy contributed to flattening the curve of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Daystar Academy’s transformation of its annual fundraiser into a virtual disco dance party on Saturday evening, March 28, was an opportunity for families to dress up, Zoom in, and let loose. Daystar Academy parent, Beth Fioritto, said that her son “was so excited about the disco party and creating his costume! And, I’m not gonna lie, I had a pretty great time figuring out a disco costume from the stuff we had on hand. It was so nice to have something different to do and be able to feel like a community.”

During the party, popular disco tunes played and families from across Chicagoland could see each other in 70’s fashion dancing and greeting one another via their laptop, tablet and phone. This virtual dance welcomed 105 families. Though there was no charge to participate, the event raised more than $15,000 through previously purchased tickets, silent auctions and raffles.

The event was so well-received that Daystar Academy will now host a dance party every Saturday evening. With so much that has changed in our world, it is important to make a point to gather together and have fun, build connections, and celebrate community. This dance party is an effort to help the Daystar Academy community take a break from the stress of the week and enjoy some time together with other families with students coping with Covid-19 changes. Another Daystar parent, Tracey Brewer, commented that, "The Disco Night was especially a blessing for us to have such a fun ‘plan’ when much feels so indeterminate. We continue to be so grateful for all the efforts that the whole Daystar team puts into eLearning.”

— Bruce Iglauer, President – Alligator Records

FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, March 31, 2020 / — During this currently volatile and disruptive professional environment, everyone is feeling the negative impacts surrounding the professional music community slow down; global radio is no exception. For various financial and logistical reasons, labels and Indie artists are being forced to slow down, or even quit submitting new music to radio.

You may have already been contacted by stations familiar with your music, or noticed a few press releases and notices from stations requesting and looking for new and various types of content, i.e.; music for airplay, videos links for placement on their station website, phone interviews, new station IDs, and Skype artist performances for their listeners.

These radio programmers and music lovers have and will continue to spin new, emerging and classic artists that are not signed to major labels, or are not allowed into the very strict “Top 40” mainstream.

These dedicated music aficionados are ultimately the tastemakers of the world. They can and will play the tracks that they love; why, because they can. They enjoy discovering new music, and vintage recordings that they then share with their fans, their listeners. Fans of DJs, quickly turn into new fans of the artists those DJs play.

Do you have a global radio strategy for 2020? If not, you may want to ask yourself… why not?

"All of us here at CMH value Robert and Lynda Weingartz's contributions to our industry with AirPlay Direct’s own innovations and the important service they provide record labels, artists and radio stations. ~ David Haerle, President – CMH Label Group

"As an independent artist it is imperative that I find economical and effective ways to market, promote, and distribute my music to radio. Through AirPlay Direct’s Eco-System I am able to introduce my music legacy to radio programmers and music professionals all over the globe. With the ability to track in real time who is downloading my songs I’ve begun building relationships with DJs and programmers that were never possible before.

In 2015 I launched a traditional radio promotion campaign for my independent release "Building a Human Being. After mailing hundreds of CDs and several months of follow-up calls and emails I thought the project's life had reached an end. When "No Second Coming" from that same CD was selected for AirPlay Direct's “Global Radio Showcase" Volume 5 "Americana Unlimited", I felt a renewed sense of hope. I was overjoyed when programmers at radio stations all over the world immediately began downloading literally every track from that 2015 CD.

The AirPlay Direct Eco-System levels the playing field for independent artists like myself. AirPlay Direct’s global radio download tracking reports make it possible for me to track which stations are downloading my music for airplay… in real-time. Via the AirPlay Direct tracking system I am also able to contact every radio programmer that downloads my music, providing me the opportunity to build real relationships with radio stations and DJs worldwide.

AirPlay Direct's "Global Radio Showcase" breathed new life into what I thought was an old CD and enabled me to build an invaluable community of support globally.

As a result, I’m reaching new listening audiences and developing potential new touring markets. AirPlay Direct is truly invaluable, not only in introducing new music to the world, but as a place where everything I’ve recorded can be discovered again and again." ~ Dana Cooper, Independent Artist

The vital support that AirPlay Direct has given to independent labels and artists in niche genres sets it apart from all other digital delivery services. In addition to helping get our new releases to radio, AirPlay Direct has helped bring attention to our catalog by featuring our classic albums in their digital newsletters to radio.

As a result of their outstanding service, we’re able to make a much greater worldwide radio impact than ever before. They’re the best!” ~ Bruce Iglauer, President – Alligator Records

Steven F. Weiner, MD Performs His "reJAWvenation" Procedure For Improving Jawlines on The Doctors Show

Dr Steven F. Weiner’s “reJAWvenation” Procedure Before and After

Steven F. Weiner, MD Performs “reJAWvenation” On Jowls

Dr. Steven F. Weiner On “The Doctors Show” With His “reJAWvenation” Technique

Dr. Weiner's "reJAWvenation" procedure is a near painless 10 minute procedure which involves filler injections to improve jowling and strengthens the jawline

Dr. Weiner's "reJAWvenation" is an ideal procedure for people desiring a more youthful or defined jawline who prefer little to no downtime.”

— Steven F. Weiner, MD

SANTA ROSA BEACH, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, March 29, 2020 / — Dr. Steven F. Weiner's trademarked "reJAWvenation" was featured on "The Doctors Show". He performed the procedure in front of a live audience in less than 10 minutes. A brand new device, Frozen C, was used to minimize the discomfort of the procedure, which was describe by Amy (the patient) as "comparable to a flu shot". Softfil microcannulas were used for the injection which "reduce bruising, swelling, and risk" stated Dr. Weiner. "While adding volume (filler) might sound counter-intuitive when there is jowling, proper placement of the filler can actually have a slimming and lifting effect" said Dr. Andrew Ordon, one of host of The Doctors Show. When the "reJAWvenation" was complete, Amy was brought into the audience so the cameras could capture her reaction at seeing her before and after results. The results were immediately obvious as they were revealed and Amy, the audience, and all "The Doctors Show" hosts agreed. She had no bruising or swelling noted in the reveal. "Those are great results" said Dr. Ordon.

Dr. Weiner, also knwon as "The reJAWvenator" noted that candidates for "reJAWvenation" vary from the young patient in their 20's who desire a firmer jawline, to a 60 year old with mild to moderate jowling. Older patients require more filler and often multiple visits to achieve their desired results. Patients with significant jowling or fat collections are best treated with a combination of modalities such as radiofrequency, liposuction, fat dissolving injections, or even surgery.

Preventive measures were discussed that included sun protection, and treatments such as peels, radiofrequency, and skincare. "Downtime?" was asked, and Dr. Weiner responded "there is no downtime and the only restrictions is to minimize strenuous activity until the following morning".

Dr. Weiner developed the "reJAWvenation" after careful analysis of the aging process of the jaw and facial soft tissue. He noted that the jaw looses bone along the lower border and at the gonial angle as a person ages. "Surprisingly, most physicians are still injecting onto the bone in the patients with jowling. Injecting onto bone in the aging patient is counter-productive, and will lead to widening of an already heavy lower face. "ReJAWvenation" adds volume to the areas of anatomic bone loss, which is below and behind the jaw, to replace what is missing." To maximize effects and to minimize risks, Dr. Weiner chooses to place the filler in a superficial plane. This plane also leads to less post-procedure discomfort because the muscles (masseter) and bone aren't irritated.

As previously alluded to, younger patients can also benefit from "reJAWvenation" to build a firmer jawline. The technique is slightly different and Dr. Weiner warns that "females with already wide lower faces, injections may make the jaw appear more masculine, so that needs to be consider prior to injections". Obviously, less filler is needed typically for the younger patients.

Dr. Weiner summizes that "reJAWvenation" is an ideal procedure for patients desiring a more youthful or defined jawline who prefer little to no downtime. "While it is not a surgical result, for a 10 minute procedure, there is demonstrable results" adds Dr. Weiner.

Dr. Weiner positions his practice, The Aesthetic Clinique, as one of the most technologically advanced cosmetic centers in the United States. Dr. Weiner lectures and trains worldwide on advanced injection techniques and aesthetic technologies. The Aesthetic Clinique was awarded the Best Aesthetic Practice in the U.S. in 2018 at The Aesthetic Show. In 2019 and 2020, The Aesthetic Clinique was voted Best Medspa and Best Doctor from The Best in Destin awards. He is one of the world's authorities on Radiofrequency Microneedling and recently published the most comprehensive review of the technology and studies in the Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America. He was recently highlighted on "The Doctors Show" for his trademarked "reJAWvenation" technique for jawline rejuvenation using dermal fillers. Dr. Weiner has over 26 years of experience in the aesthetic industry.

Todd Rundgren Recruits Guest Artists for Democratic Campaign Anthem

Todd Rundgren Photo

Todd Rundgren

ASHEVILLE, NC, USA, March 28, 2020 / — Todd Rundgren and some well known guest artists are re-recording his 1973 anthem “Just One Victory” and giving it away for free to Democrats throughout the US running for public office this year. So far Joe Walsh, Daryl Hall, and Paul Shaffer have already agreed to join the effort along with producer Don Was. The idea was suggested by former Bearsville Records executives Paul Fishkin and Marc Nathan.

“Just One Victory” originally appeared as the final track on Rundgren's critically acclaimed 1973 album, A Wizard, a True Star.

Rundgren hopes that other notable artists sign on as well. “Let's go for 'We Are the World,'” he recently told Andy Greene of Rolling Stone. “Not many people know about it at this particular moment, especially because just as we were getting into the project this huge distraction [of the virus] came along. We are waiting for everyone to settle down from that before we refocus on the political and start actively soliciting some performances.”

Guest artists on the song don't need to be musicians or even musically inclined. Once the song is recorded any Democrat will be able to use the song for free. “It's really the kind of thing to get people hyped up and ready to go out and vote,” Rundgren says.

Chart-Topping Reggae Pioneers Offer Hope with "CHRISTAFARI’s Pandemic (COVID-19 Quarantine Anthem)"

Chart-topping Reggae pioneers CHRISTAFARI have released a music video for their new single, "CHRISTAFARI’s Pandemic (COVID-19 Quarantine Anthem).”

In the meantime stay quarantined, wash your hands, and please share this video — hope is the only thing that should be going viral right now!”

— Mark Mohr

LOS ANGELES, CA, USA, March 28, 2020 / — Chart-topping Reggae pioneers CHRISTAFARI have released a music video for their new single, "CHRISTAFARI’s Pandemic (COVID-19 Quarantine Anthem)” from longtime label, Lion of Zion Entertainment. Watch the official music video here:

10 out of the band’s 12 members recently became ill during the band's South America tour that ended in early March. A few members tested positive for strep throat but tests for Coronavirus were unavailable. Three weeks later, all members have fully recovered, just in time for a mandatory quarantine in their home state of California. Their current world tour has been postponed.

"Over the last decade, we’ve toured the world extensively,” says CHRISTAFARI founder and frontman Mark Mohr. "We’ve been to 85 nations so far and typically perform in 25 to 30 countries per year so staying in one place is not our strong suit. Right now, we are supposed to be touring Israel but they were one of the first countries to close their border to all international travel."

The melody for the new single popped into Mohr's head one afternoon as he thought about the overall fear and panic that this pandemic has caused. Little did he know that in just a few hours all the restaurants in Southern California would be closed for dining indefinitely.

"Two things that have lifted us up during this time are our trust in God, and hilarious memes about this toilet paper apocalypse,” says Mohr. "So we decided to do a video that highlighted these things. I wanted to create something that was both funny and offered others hope in desperate times.”

"We pray this video encourages people to not be consumed by fear and anxiety but to put their hope in the Lord and trust that doctors and scientists all around the world are feverishly working to find a solution,” says Mohr. "In the meantime stay quarantined, wash your hands, and please share this video — hope is the only thing that should be going viral right now!"

"CHRISTAFARI’s Pandemic (COVID-19 Quarantine Anthem)” is available now on all platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Google Play, YouTube and more:

Krunchie Killeen Releases his "River Stroll" Song

DUBLIN, CO. DUBLIN, IRELAND, March 28, 2020 / — Krunchie Killeen is about to release his recording of his new song “River Stroll,” to Spotify and other streaming services, viz.,

iTunes, YouTube, Amazon, Apple Music, Google Play, Tik Tok, Deezer, Pandora, ClaroMusica, Saavn, TIDAL, iHeartRadio, Napster, Anghami, KKBox, TouchTunes.

The Release Date is set for 20 April 2020.

The tune came to him as he strolled by the Tolka River in Dublin, Ireland, one breezy morning last August, casually taking videos, with his Huawei mobile phone, as he went.

Krunchie is seventy seven years old.

After his four mile riverside walk from Finglas Bridge in Glasnevin, Dublin, to Rathborne Village on the Royal Canal, he stopped at Douglas & Kaldi restaurant for lunch. While resting there, he captured, (using the “Perfect Piano” app) the tune that was in his head as he strolled. Later, he amalgamated the tune with the videos he had taken, and uploaded the composition to YouTube as “Tolka Stroll.” The video has enjoyed about 180 views to date.

He has now put words to the tune and has recorded the song under the title “River Stroll,” which is the version now to be released.

A selection of photos of Krunchie can be viewed and downloaded from this link: Photographs of Krunchie Killeen

“Glossneen” is the name of Krunchie’s record label. The range of recordings so far issued under the “Glosneen” label can be found at:

These include a selection of poems by famous author, James Joyce, to which Krunchie has put new pop airs, as well as some of Krunchie's original compositions, some songs “From the Irish,” i.e., inspired by works in the Irish language, and some comic songs and outrageous poems from Krunchie's two books, titled “Outrageous Poems” and “Someone Else’s Poem.”

Krunchie began uploading songs to Spotify in February of this year when he felt he needed to start a new “enterprise.” He had just acquired beginner’s skill with some software packages that have become available in recent years, including Movavi (video editing), Sibelius (music composition) and MixPad (music studio), as well as a record distribution service, Distrokid.

While he has never been a professional performer, Krunchie has been playing and singing for fun with the ephemeral Invincibles (of Dublin) for about 17 years (and before that The Chancers) as well as reciting his outrageous poems for 60 years. His current weekly lunch-hour concert/ sing-song in Clareville Day Centre is suspended because of the Corona virus. Some years ago, he put on a straw boater hat, Joyce-style glasses and dickey bow, for a celebration of Bloomsday. People said he looked very like James Joyce, so he repeats the impersonation every year.

Krunchie’s biography can be viewed on:

"I had a theme and feel running around in my head,” Aiken explains. “I was aiming for a throw-back Southern California, hippie type Country tune, but infused with that longing for the first glimpse of “home.” For us, it’s that the iconic Nashville skyline. I think we captured that feeling perfectly.”

The companion music video features a rare (one of only 14 made) vintage Airstream originally designed as a funeral coach, and “road trip” footage shot during Mike’s last run. “The video took us three months to finish, due to touring demands, weather and a host of mini-misadventures, but it was a blast,” Mike adds.

Aiken’s upcoming summer tour will take him and his wife Amy overseas (situation allowing) for their seventh European tour July 23 – August 29. Shows in France include: Angoulême, Bruay-la-Buissière, La Roche, La Rochelle, Le Barp, Marseille, Metz, Montbrun Les Bains, Nice, Paris, Pontlarlier, Strasbourg, and Trégastel. The Netherlands’ stops include Lomm and Blijham; dates in Belgium will be announced soon.

“We can’t wait to go back,” Mike exclaims. “The response from our European fans, radio and press is truly heartfelt, beautiful and appreciated. They are so knowledgeable and into the music.”
