HIP Video Promo presents: Lila Blue premieres nightmarish folk lullaby "Half Of It" video on B-Sides & Badlands

Lila Blue – photo by Emily Sevin

Lila Blue – Half Of It

Blue is well aware of the suggestive power of masks and her co-star and love interest in the clip wears a hulking blue one that looks positively mythical

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, USA, January 30, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Watch "Half Of It" by Lila Blue on B-Sides & Badlands

There's a reason why most truly innovative pop songwriters are young. Talented young artists haven't yet learned how to capitulate to convention. A skilled young writer can't help but do anything but follow her own muse – no matter where it takes her. Lila Blue doesn't try to be different: she just is, and that's how you know her departures from expectation are sincere and wholly embodied. The New York-based artist makes music that doesn't sound like anybody else's. Her songs are a complete expression of her unique personality: they bear the imprint of a singular musical intelligence, and that's an extraordinarily exciting thing for any listener to encounter.

That's not to say that Lila Blue doesn't have her antecedents. There's a dark folk quality to her music: echoes of experimental pioneers like Regina Spektor, Ani DeFranco, Joni Mitchell, and Fiona Apple are audible in her songwriting. Her choruses have the immediacy and emotional appeal of contemporary pop, even if their author refuses to follow the rigid rules of mainstream radio. Listen closely, and you'll also hear the creak of the floorboards of the Broadway stage. But songs like "Half Of It," and other compositions in her songbook, are better defined by what they aren't. They're not predictable, and they're never entirely comfortable – and they're impossible to resist.

And as so often is the case with gifted young writers, Lila Blue is prolific. She's already released two albums and an EP, and she's got plenty of unrecorded material in her songbook, waiting to be realized. Leave Me Be, her upcoming set, makes her vision and her versatility manifest – this is a songwriter with ideas to burn, wide emotional range, and a knack for memorable lyrics. Tastemakers have noticed: Lila Blue's songs have been used in theatrical productions and filmed entertainment alike, including Lifetime's Story Of A Girl.

Lila has also starred in Weightless, an acclaimed Bay Area rock opera based on a story from Ovid's Metamorphosis. The "Half Of It" video doesn't refer directly to the world of Weightless, but it feels haunted by similar ghosts. As a theater veteran, Lila Blue is well aware of the suggestive power of masks – and her co-star and love interest in the clip wears a hulking blue one that makes him look positively mythical. It's an imposing mask, but it's a sad one too, and the character's interaction with Lila Blue reinforces the heartbreak and emotional depth of the song.

Black Memphis Filmmaker Anthony "Amp" Elmore Finds Racism & Plantation culture Major obstacle for Black History Movie

Those who have no record of what their forebears have accomplished lose the inspiration which comes from the teaching of biography and history.

“There comes a time when silence is betrayal.” “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.

There is no more powerful force than a people steeped in their history.. And there is no higher cause than honoring our struggle and ancestors by remembering.

African/American Filmmaker Anthony "Amp" Elmore challenges White Supremacy Racism and plantation culture to promote his film 200 years of Black Memphis History

Those who have no record of what their forebears have accomplished lose the inspiration which comes from the teaching of biography and history. ”

— Dr. Carter G. Woodson Father of African/American History

MEMPHIS, TN, UNITED STATES, January 30, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — 2020 marks the 94th anniversary of Black History month in America. Anthony “Amp” Elmore who happens to be African/American is also Memphis First Independent Theatrical Filmmaker. Elmore finds the plantation mentality, White Supremacy, Racism and lack of integrity a major obstacle to telling the correct Black History of Memphis, Tennessee.

In researching Memphis African/American history to make his film Elmore came to realize that Memphis plantation culture is his major obstacle in telling the correct Black history of Memphis. Dr. Carter G. Woodson the Founder of African/American history month created an organization called ASALH: Association for the Study of African American Life and History. The mission of ASALH is to promote, research, preserve, interpret and disseminate information about Black life, history and culture to the global community.

Elmore in communication with the Memphis Chapter of ASALA regarding Black Memphis History is as if he was living a scene from the 1956 movie "Invasion of the Body Snatchers." In the horror film the bodies of humans were taken over by foreign invaders. In researching Black Memphis history Elmore realized that confederates, White Supremacist and racist dismantled and rewrote the most significant and essential Black Memphis history. Elmore wondered why Memphis ASALA chapter was silent regarding estrication of Black Memphis history.

What was shocking and disturbing in researching the Memphis Chapter of ASALA Elmore came to learn that the National Chapter of ASALa held its National Convention in Memphis in 2014 at the Memphis Peabody Hotel the "South's Greatest Symbol of Plantation life and Culture in American history." Elmore in a horror thinking how could Racist Whites extricate Black Memphis history and Negroes in Master's house celebrating on the the plantation.

While Elmore wrote the Executive Director of ASALH Sylvia Y. Cyrus via a "formal complaint" noting that the Memphis Branch of ASALA betrays the spirit of Dr. Carter G. Woodson via their silence regarding the extrication of Black Memphis History. Elmore notes that the National Chapter of ASALA is in concert with the silence of the Memphis chapter.

Dr. Martin Luther King said: “"There comes a time when silence is betrayal." In regards to Black Memphis History Elmore notes:Black Memphis Scholars are Complicit in White Supremacy and Racism and remain silent regarding this issue.

Traditionally Racism and White Supremacy purposefully omitted African/Americans out of "American History." Elmore explains in his film how Memphis became not only the "Slave Capital of the World," also, Memphis had a notorious racist history that extricated the positive contributions how African/American helped shape Memphis. Elmore explains that it is important for our youth to know how African/Americans helped to shape Memphis.

Elmore is a Memphis born 5 Time World Karate/Kickboxing champion who was listed in the 1983 issue of Memphis magazine as one of the most 100 influential Memphians. Elmore was the 1st to bring E.S.P.N. to Memphis. Memphis Congressman Steve Cohen honored Elmore on the Floor of Congress for his efforts of developing culture and trade between Memphis and Africa.

Anthony “Amp” Elmore is Memphis 1st Independent filmmaker in that Elmore was the 1st Memphian to produce a 35mm Theatrical Release titled “The Contemporary Gladiator” in 1988. Elmore in honor of “Memphis 200th Bicentennial Celebration” produced the film “200 Years of Black Memphis History.”

Elmore in researching Memphis African/American history Elmore learned that among the first authorized Black Union Soldiers, many came from Memphis, Tennessee. It was Tennessee Soldiers who suffered the worst fate in the Civil war. Elmore explains that in the same area where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was killed in 1968 Blacks people suffered a greater tragedy in the “Memphis Massacre of 1866” that lead Congress to adopt the 14th Amendment.

Lonnie G. Bunch director of the African/American museum on the mall of Washington D.C. write; "There is no more powerful force than a people steeped in their history.. And there is no higher cause than honoring our struggle and ancestors by remembering." Anthony "Amp" Elmore understands that his role as Memphis first African/American Filmmaker is vitally important to the growth and development of Memphis, Tennessee.

While Black Memphis scholars are silent regarding the extrication and racism of Black Memphis history Elmore may find a glimmer of hope via White Memphis Congressman Steve Cohen. Memphis Congressman Steve Cohen has been Elmore's most avid supporter. Elmore in the movie tells how Memphis 1st Elected African/American Mayor W.W. Herenton via the 2010 Griffin/Strong Disparity study had the worst record of African/Americans in doing business with a city in America. Mayor Herenton was against culture, trade and family with Africa. Elmore explains that under African/American W.W. Herenton he faced the worst of Black on Black Racism.

Elmore's film "200 Years of Black Memphis History" is a documentary created by Elmore to honor Dr. Martin Luther King in the African/American struggle. Elmore notes that we must tell our nation about the continued racism and White Supremacy in Memphis. While Elmore is Memphis first 35mm Independent theatrical released filmmaker, the Memphis Film and tape commission never acknowledged, associated, Included, invited Elmore to anything film related in 33 years. Elmore calls this the "Nigger Treatment."

Elmore met with Lynn Sitler head of the Memphis/Shelby County tape commission and Ryan Watt head of "Indie Memphis." Elmore expressed the meeting as another case of White Supremacy and Racism. Elmore created the movie Robert "Hollywood" Raiford Black America U.S.A. in 2017 and Elmore released the film "200 Years of Black Memphis History" in May of 2019. Elmore never received a mention or consideration.

In 2019 African/American Filmmaker Tyler Perry while being ignored by Hollywood opened a 300 acre Theatre in Atlanta. Spike Lee in his 1988 movie "Do the Right Thing" hired the rap group "Public Enemy" to do the sound track. Public enemy challenged the Memphis Elvis White Supremacist culture. Spike Lee heads the Cannes Film Festival in 2020. Also in 2020 Public Enemy will achieve the grammy lifetime achievement award.

Memphis 1st Independent Black Filmmaker is reporting to the nation about White Supremacy and Racism in Memphis.

HIP Video Promo presents: Keldamuzik releases dazzling eye candy music video for "Magic"

Keldamuzik – Magic

“Magic” is about timeless love, giving up yourself to the right one, that lover who casts a spell, making your insecurities vanish, and the real you appear

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, USA, January 28, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Find out more about Keldamuzik at HIP Video Promo

Bay area artist Keldamuzik prides herself on performing like no one else is watching, but trust us: by now, folks are watching. Even sitting atop her stack of industry accomplishments, she’s got the same honesty and passion she had on day one. Not only is she four albums into her hip-hop, pop, and R&B career, she’s branched out into TV production and hosting, acting, and film production. She also runs a very in-demand entertainment company, screening her first film, Love The Original Way, at the Black Hollywood Film Festival. That’s a full plate, right? Not even close for Keldamuzik. She recently toured Japan with R&B singer Lloyd, then headed down to the Caribbean to perform at one of the biggest stadiums in Antigua with Reggae singer Jah Cure. Keldamuzik’s got international radio hits and track licensing deals with Sony Pictures. All in a day’s – and a Diva’s – work. She’s giving her idols like TLC, Rihanna, Madonna, and Eminem a run for their money, in both talent and tenacity.

Building off the success of international hits like “Queen For a Night,” and “Thirsty,” Keldamuzik and collaborator Mrs. Thesis have penned a track in honor of a love that runs deeper than sex, stronger than the pull of wandering eyes and entrapping apps. True, this bouncy, modern R&B jam throws a 2020 lyrical spin on romance, with other dudes getting “swiped to the left.” But “Magic” is about timeless love, giving up your whole self to the right one, that lover who casts a spell, making your insecurities vanish, and the real you appear. “Magic” is the title track to her new album, released on her own Digz Media Group, and produced by LA’s Robot Millenium. He gives it an undeniably West Coast groove, all shimmering synths, and a playful body-mover of a beat. With its extended outro and Keldamuzik’s subtle ad-libs, it’s one of those songs you wish would never end, like that perfect evening with that perfect someone.

At five years old, Kelda Williams realized that the entertainment biz was her calling. A few seconds of her onscreen presence might make you wonder how she didn’t figure that out even earlier in life. She cuts a sexy, commanding figure against nothing but a white backdrop, flanked by her dancers. Kelda’s calm fierceness casts its own very real spell, while her lover conjures a glowing orb, she blow-kisses iridescent hearts and tiny explosions that hang in mid-air, and the two cuddle in low-light surrounded by stardust. Noel John Bell, aka Nobe of Inf Gang, directed, and Keldamuzik kept the entire production in the 510 family with Inf Gang, a collective of SF Bay Area rappers, engineers, and video producers handling all aspects, front to back. If Keldamuzik continues making this kind of magic, she’s set to move on more countries, climb more charts and welcome even more fans, so consider this your heads up.

HIP Video Promo presents: Ready, Steady, Die! reveal haunting "Woebetide" music video on Medium

Ready, Steady, Die!

Ready, Steady, Die! – Pleasure Ride

"Woebetide" paints a picture of a dream landscape and it's the ideal accompaniment for a song as hypnotic as this one.

BROOKLYN, NY, USA, January 28, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Watch the brand new "Woebetide" music video on Medium.com

Usually, pedigree doesn't mean much to us. But in rare cases, it's worthy of comment – especially for true students of music history who know the names of the giants who shaped pop and rock. Tony Visconti, for instance, was the peerless wizard whose fearless productions for David Bowie are recognized as audio monuments: they're albums that don't sound like anything else, and they've influenced everybody who has heard them. Morgan Visconti, the son of the master, is also up to something inimitable with Ready, Steady Die!, his mesmerizing project with British singer-songwriter Sam K. Just as Tony took the then-contemporary styles of glam, prog, and proto-metal as jumping-off points for his wild departures from musical orthodoxy, Morgan and Sam transform dream pop, electronic rock, and darkwave into something that's entirely their own – something built to endure.

Consider "Woebetide", a single that manages to be sweet, thunderous, destabilizing, and enveloping, all at once. Sam K rides waves of rich, luscious distortion, six-string feedback and effects, and alternately throbbing and purring synthesizer. A less able singer would get lost in the maelstrom. A less judicious producer would swamp his front-woman with a pure, gorgeous sound. Instead, Morgan and Sam K achieve a perfect balance between spellbinding pop and challenging electronic music. It's the sort of rapturous production that a listener would expect to hear from a heralded veteran, not a newcomer – and Morgan Visconti is no neophyte. He's been practicing his craft for years, and he's been deeply involved in all of the projects released through the Human Label, an adventurous imprint that has put out records by the Ancients, Triple Island, and Jaust, among others. Pleasure Ride, the upcoming EP from Ready, Steady Die!, is only the first in a trilogy of interrelated recordings that the ambitious duo plans to release in the coming year.

Morgan Visconti has visual ideas, too, and as WeekendClass, he's matched "Woebetide" with a clip that only deepens its mystery. It's a simple concept, but one that is, in its execution, positively psychedelic: the video consists of aerial footage of the Catskills forests. In high resolution, the treetops seem otherworldly – sometimes a latticework of bone-white branches, and sometimes a rippling canopy of autumn leaves. If that isn't enchanting enough, Visconti incorporates some striking visual effects: folding the forest back on itself, doubling and tripling the trees, and mirroring the high hills. This is a dream landscape that Visconti is supplying for us, and it's the ideal accompaniment for a song as hypnotic as this one.
