The new product acts as an editorial assistant, automatically inserting repeated segments or loops of digital audio “room tone” without the traditional time penalty.

Available for both Windows and macOS, MtG addresses the need for seamless, repetitive “looped” audio to act as an aural background for the creation of composite dialog, music or effects tracks. Acting as a 64 bit plug–in, MtG offers engineers a fast way to define a segment of previously recorded audio for replication, or new sound from a microphone input can be recorded right into MtG. Then, that segment can be “topped and tailed,” or trimmed to include only the desired section. Finally, the prepared audio is automatically inserted into a track that has been cleaned of extraneous content, filling any gaps with smoothly repeated instances of the prepared sound. Controls are included to gain–adjust the inserted audio to seamlessly integrate the replacement material with the existing track.

MtG was conceived by MAAT co–founder Friedemann Tischmeyer as a streamlined tool to speed the creation of effects tracks, ambience beds and room tone for dialog editorial. “Sound–for–picture editors, cinematic podcasters and talking book producers all need a fast and easy way to loop in audio clips during their work. But while the hurdy-gurdy is associated with folk dances and medieval courts, in the hands of a master, it can make music that's strikingly modern. Eugene Purpurovsky of tAngerinecAt is a musician like that, and the hurdy-gurdy is the hand-cranked engine that powers the duo's remarkable sound.

tAngerinecAt matches the Ukranian-born Purpurovsky's hurdy-gurdy, voice, provocative lyrics, and production with the sound transformation, synths, bagpipes, and ethereal whistles and recorders of musician and sound designer Paul Chilton. Originally formed in Ukraine, where Chilton lived and studied music and the band has historical and musical roots, tAngerinecAt are now based in the UK. Both artists contribute samples, ambient noises, and processed beats that evoke DIY techno, raw punk rock, and spectral folk traditions in equal measure.

Many Kettles, the pair's fourth album, casts a particularly dark spell. This is electronic music with a furious human pulse: a bold dance in the face of cruel authority that evokes "the feeling of a rave in a mausoleum" as Ben Knight of LeftLion put it. It's also an outlet for Purpurovsky's fiery statements of intent. The singer and hurdy-gurdy player has plenty to say about the parlous state of the world; "I Don't Want To Be A White Master," the kickoff track on the album, is a furious rejection of the rising global culture of fascism and cruelty. Through tAngerinecAt, Purpurovsky strikes back at oppression of all kinds – class, cultural, economic, ethnic, gender, and interpersonal – and invites the listener to join the resistance.

On "Roses From Blood," the single from Many Kettles, Purpurovsky identifies as a pale faced witch and pirate with a blood red rose in his buttonhole. The clip for the song, which Purpurovsky directed projects the singers emotional inner world onto the screen, sometimes as a reflection that walks out of the mirror and sometimes prone and covered with roses. As the intensity of the music grows the camera flashes back and forth between the above mentioned images and scenes depicting fear, distress, self harm and rage. But Purpurovsky is also shown in concert, turning the crank on the hurdy-gurdy and hopping up and down with punk rock abandon. Chilton, too, demonstrates stage intensity, manning the machines with the determination of a scientist. The message is clear: no matter how marvelously moody this music can be, tAngerinecAt can bring the heat in a concert setting.

“Roses From Blood” is a very personal tale of Eugene's own experience and struggle to overcome severe trauma, childhood abuse, poverty, gender inequality, dehumanization, stigma and challenges of being a migrant from a poor post-colonial country. It is important not just as a beautiful piece of art but also it is an amazing tool to break the stigma of mental illness both for Eugene and for the listener, and to highlight the causes that lie within capitalism and unequal society. Shahin Badar is world famous for her vocals in The Prodigy's banger 'Smack My Bitch Up'. The first two remixes Vocal & Dub are produced by DJ Podje of 4SuMotion fame, who earned his reputation with his 10 year residency at the internationally renowned, U2 owned Kitchen Nightclub in Dublin Ireland.The track is a perfect fusion of Asian and European music and crosses over genres to be a floor filler in House, Tech House or Progressive House sets. DJ Podje states  “I was delighted to be asked to remix Jaag and when I heard the exceptional vocal I knew I had to do it !  Shahin is such a pleasure to work with, I enjoyed putting my slant on Jaag and feel that I’ve done the vocal justice ”

Shahin also sings on my very latest album 'Up from the Dust' on the Track 'Nazreh Mili ”

The year 2020 begins full of energy and new projects for Cuban musician, producer, and artist X Alfonso, who today, January 17, releases No Se Puede Pensar Como Un Prisionero (You Can't Think Like A Prisoner), the fifth and latest single from his most recent album, Inside, released in 2019 after 10 years of working in other artistic endeavors in his native Cuba.

No Se Puede Pensar Como Un Prisionero is a hymn to resistance, an invitation to seek power, determination and growth within oneself to get the best out of every human being, even though we live in a convulsed and selfish world, where the power of money and the interests of a few prevail over the general welfare.

The song speaks of strength, of the struggle and need that every human being has to need to live in a better world, and to share a common dream. This is a recurring theme in all of X Alfonso's music: his faith that this world can be a better place, if every one of us tries to make it so!

The simple and beautiful video was shot at the FAC (Cuban Art Factory), an iconic stage for Havana culture, where the Cuban musician and producer recorded live on December 19 Inside X Alfonso, a session open to exchange with the public.

X Alfonso's new video is available on all digital platforms and on his website (with free download for residents of Cuba).

About X Alfonso

X Alfonso is one of the most prominent musicians of the young Cuban art scene, winner of the Goya Award for the soundtrack of the film Habana Blues (2005). He has collaborated with important musicians and groups such as Audioslave, Bebe, Santiago Feliú, Descemer Bueno, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Rick Wakeman.

Also, he has received recognition for his social work. In 2010, X Alfonso received the title of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for his artistic work with and for children in Havana.
