Folk Dancers from ‘Heaven’ Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center

Dancers from the Grupo Folklorico Mehetzi perform at Clearwater’s Osceola Courtyard where Hispanic families celebrated Hispanic Heritage Day on Sunday the 13th of October.

[Hispanic Heritage] is something the kids should be proud of and this type of event raises awareness of how rich and beautiful our traditions are.”

— Mere Serrano, founder Groupo Folkorico Mahetzi

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, US, October 17, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Hispanic Heritage Month was celebrated in grand style this past Sunday – the 13th of October with an appearance by the Grupo Folkloriko Mahetzi at the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center and Osceola Courtyard.

Groupo Folklorico is an all volunteer non-profit organization that teaches youth traditional Mexican dances so they remain connected to their heritage, as well as share their culture. The event featured live music, lots of dancing and Mexican dishes.

“It was a good opportunity to bring awareness about our Mexican culture” said Mere Serrano, founder of Groupo Folkorico Mahetzi. “ This is really important for our youth to see that their culture is being celebrated, it is something the kids should be proud of and this type of event raises awareness of how rich and beautiful our traditions are.”

Originally started as Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968 by President Lyndon Johnson, it was extended to a month by President Ronald Reagan who said at the time: "At the root of everything that we're trying to accomplish is the belief that America has a mission. We are a nation of freedom, living under God, believing all citizens must have the opportunity to grow, create wealth, and build a better life for those who follow."

Hispanic Heritage month recognizes the contributions and vital presence of both Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and to observe their native heritage and contributing culture.

The 15th of October was chosen as the starting point for the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month because it is the anniversary of independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and 18.

The Grupo Folklórico Mahetzi (heaven) promotes cultural diversity through the presentation of traditional Mexican Folklore Dances. This group is comprised of children ages 6 to 15 years old, who regularly perform throughout the Tampa Bay area.

DERBY, DERBYSHIRE, UK, October 15, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — “That’s the next best thing I’ve ever heard” – Brenda Herron

Northumbrian siblings The Herron Brothers return with their first and only release for 2019, “The Next Ones”.

Following on from their debut album, 2018’s “The Last Ones Left”, and this summer’s 22 date UK tour, the EP develops upon the themes and styles of its predecessor.

“It's been a year since we put our first album out, but these songs feel like they could have been on it” says Paul, “each song, in its own weird way deals with hope for the future, not giving in”.
“But” interjects Steven, “we’ve somehow taken the same amount of time on four songs as we did on 12, which should mean, if my maths is right, that these songs are THREE TIMES the quality of the last lot.”

The current batch and accompanying videos are the culmination of a new 100% DIY approach, necessitated by an ever developing range of industry related skills, coupled with “unbelievable levels of skintness” that have resulted in “enforced self sustainability”. (“Very on-trend”, Paul mutters, tongue in cheek, as he types this press release)

“We’ve borrowed great studio mics and guitars from friends, built our own vocal booth in the flat we share, basically recorded mixed and mastered everything here” Steven explains.

“Visitors wonder why our living room wall is ‘Elf Green’, and it’s to shoot videos against, with a swish camera that will have to be sold pretty soon if we don’t start making some money” semi jokes Paul.

When asked if they’d like to repeat this completely homegrown approach for their next project the brothers reply in unison with a heartfelt, resounding, “NO”.

Having now completed their UK tour, Paul and Steven are looking forward to all the admin involved with promoting an independent release “like King Kong looked forward to each bullet whilst hanging off the Empire State Building”.

The lads have a strange encounter with some flying puppets in a clip from the forthcoming video for “Bent Umbrella”.

Praise for ‘The Last Ones Left’

“Groovy and uplifting” – ITSEZBREEZY
“Instantly catchy and imbued with a quintessential British charm” – Photogroupie
“There is not a weak song on this album” – LAmusicCritic
“Really good songwriting, great upbeat pop” – Getintothis
“Quirky ‘n’ clever stuff” – FabricationsHQ
“Charming, catchy, folky, poppy anthems” – Rocking Magpie

HIP Video Promo presents: Roberto Domino Basile crafts musical masterpieces with a trifecta of music videos

Roberto Domino Basile

Basile, in short, provided us with a complete package: art, and sound, and message, with every element working together to provide a single evocative effect.

SUN CITY CENTER, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, October 15, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Just as gems in the raw must be cut, polished, and set in their bezel, some masterworks take years to complete. An initial idea may strike a virtuoso in a flash of inspiration – but to express that idea properly, an artist may work tirelessly to refine in, ornament it, and make it shine. Orchestral music and art song, in particular, requires diligent attention to detail and uncommon personal sacrifice.

Roberto Domino Basile has never been short on inspiration. Music has always been an animating passion for him. Yet before he shared his gift with the world, he was determined to get it right. The songs he's recently made public might be new to you, but rest assured that they've long been germinating within the composer's soul. To hear them is to appreciate his fierce dedication, his perseverance, and his hard-won mastery of craft.

His songs may also make you stand in awe of his gifts. As "Preciosa," "Silent Fire," and "0-1 September” and several other music videos produced by Basile demonstrate, he possesses an unerring ear for melodic development, and a film scorer's knack for evocative arrangement. Basile's songs – all of which are the fruits of many years of labor – are brought to life by a talented, expressive group of world-class instrumentalists. He's also enlisted the help, and the formidable interpretive abilities, many breathtaking singers, including Katie Jade, whose voice graces "Preciosa" and "Silent Fire," and Cristina Caro, whose goosebump-raising turn on "0-1 September" is a perfect match for the song's powerful sentiment. Here are vocal performances of tremendous beauty and sensitivity that effortlessly straddle the divide between classical music, orchestral pieces, and sophisticated pop.

Songcraft is more than accomplished music. These vocalists seek out something worthwhile to sing about and they quickly discovered Basile has meticulously crafted his lyrics to complement his crystalline melodies and gripping harmonies. "Preciosa" takes a cogent stand against sociological ignorance and argues, fiercely, for interpersonal harmony. "Silent Fire" is inspired by the plight of the oceans, and the cruelty of those who scoff at the ecological future. "0-1 September" is a tribute to the heroic generation that fought WWII. Basile has paired each of these songs with an elegant, poetic, dreamlike music video that underscores and deepens the themes. He has, in short, provided us with a complete package: art, and sound, and message, with every element working together to provide a single evocative effect. It's a generous gesture from a late-blooming composer with multitudes to share.
